Oh who was it I saw, oh who?

A conversation the other night at with Sir Corithius of Crystal Court (over bowling and beers at Legends Lounge) went something like this:

Sir Corithius: Do you know what I love? Palindromes.
Sir Bowie: My niece is named Hannah.
Sir Corithius: Did Hannah say as Hannah did?

Which begs me to ask: Why isn’t the name of the word that describes words that can be spelled the same front and back, not spelled the same front and back?

Dammit, I'm mad!
Are we not drawn onward, we few, drawn onward to new era?
Egad, a base life defiles a bad age.

Ere hypocrisies or poses are in, my hymn I erase. So prose I, sir, copy here.

Did Joe kill like O.J. did?
He did, eh?
He lived as a devil, eh?
Live not on evil deed, live not on evil.
No devil lived on.
Devil never even lived.
Dennis and Edna sinned.

Dennis, Nell, Edna, Leon, Nedra, Anita, Rolf, Nora, Alice, Carol, Leo, Jane, Reed, Dena, Dale, Basil, Rae, Penny, Lana, Dave, Denny, Lena, Ida, Bernadette, Ben, Ray, Lila, Nina, Jo, Ira, Mara, Sara, Mario, Jan, Ina, Lily, Arne, Bette, Dan, Reba, Diane, Lynn, Ed, Eva, Dana, Lynne, Pearl, Isabel, Ada, Ned, Dee, Rena, Joel, Lora, Cecil, Aaron, Flora, Tina, Arden, Noel and Ellen sinned.

Do Good's deeds live on? No, Evil's deeds do, O God.
Evil is a name of a foeman, as I live.
Live not on evil, madam, live not on evil.
Repel evil as a live leper.

Do geese see God?
Dogma: I am God.
God saw I was dog.
Is it I? It is I!
I saw I was I.
Swap God for a janitor, rot in a jar of dog paws.
Swap for a pair of paws?
A dog! A panic in a pagoda!
Dog, as a devil deified, lived as a god.
Do go to God.

Murder for a jar of red rum.
Red rum, sir, is murder.
Yo! Bottoms up! U.S. motto, boy!”

Was it a car or a cat I saw?
Was it a rat I saw?
Was it Eliot's toilet I saw?
Oh who was it I saw, oh who?

Dammit, I'm mad!
