Robin Hood and Friar Tuck

I forgot how much I loved the movie, "Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves", until I watched it again last night because the Colts where on the NFL network. Even though a lot of critics didn't like Kevin Costner in the role because of his "horrible" accent, the action and the theme of the movie "more" than made up for that "slight" problem. It became evident to me that the Knights of Moleskine, Spirit and Ale would fit right in with those Merry Lads! Also, I hereby appoint by authority of being a Founding Father, that Friar Tuck is the official Spiritual Director of the Knights of Moleskine, Spirit and Ale! In his honor I will leave you with his quote, "This is grain, which any fool can eat, but for which the Lord intended a more divine means of consumption. Let us give praise to our maker and glory to his bounty by learning about...BEER!"
Amen,
Sir Hook

Well, I had to go to Widipedia to do a little research on this one.
It seems that Friar Tuck is more fiction than fact:

Indeed, a friar with Robin's band in the historical period of Richard the Lion-Hearted would have been impossible, because the period predates friars in England.

I, of course, can't say if that statement if fact or fiction; however, Friar Tuck is PERFECT for the merry band of Knights of Moleskine, Spirit, and Ale.

First, we're all about creating unique stories, poems, art...
Second, we can always use a little comic relief -- which Friar Tuck seems to provide.

So, being the other half of the Founding Fathers, I second the appointment.

I would like to apply for membership in your esteemed order. I use Moleskine for my planner, maintain a large lined as a travel journal, a squared for a garden notebook, a squared for a stock/investment notebook, and small squared notebooks for records of vehicles. Needless to say, I'm addicted, and they add great deal to my being able to keep some sort of order to my life and thoughts.

My dedication to good ale and beer has been a life long pursuit. Several years ago, I was able to spend a couple of weeks in the English Countyside. We sought out little out of the way Pubs where we sampled many local ales, and I must say, I have never had a more enjoyable vacation. Search as I may, I was never able to find one that I didn't like.

Lucky for me, I live along the front range of Nothern Colorado, and we have some wonderful craft micro-breweries here, and it is a constantly enjoy endeavor to keep up with the new brews that come out here each year.

If accepted to your organization, I should prefer the name of Richard of Windsor.

I enjoy your blog very much, and in future I would enjoy contributing to it in anyway that I could.

Yours truly,

Richard C. Whitney
